Sports injury rehab

You don't want to manage your sport. You want to play it.

Sports Injury Rehabilitation in Simcoe, Ontario

Getting out of pain is step one. The real job is trusting the knee when you change direction, the shoulder when you throw, the back when you lift. Most rehab stops before that.

Why this feels different

Sports physiotherapy and chiropractic, built backwards from your sport

Sports injuries here are treated through our chiropractic care in Simcoe and physiotherapy, by clinicians who work with athletes every week. The plan starts from your sport and works backwards: the movements it demands, what it puts through your body, and the dates on the schedule that mean the most to you.

The injury heals before the trust does

Ask anyone who has come back from a real injury: the hard part is not the pain, it is the hesitation. You are cleared to play, but you are still protecting the leg. Your first thought before the game is your back, not the other team. That hesitation changes how you move, and it is often how the next injury happens.

We help you build so you can trust your body again. Success here is not a lower pain score. It is a full week of work, your sport on Wednesday night, and still having the strength and energy to finish the week strong and be ready for the next game on the weekend.

Who this is for

Weekend and league athletes, teenagers in rep sport, runners and lifters, and the fifty-plus athlete who has no intention of retiring from the things they love.

If your goal has a game, a race, a season or a personal best in it, this is where you start.

Your roadmap back to sport

Five Steps to the Summit

Reset • Rebuild • Achieve

A clear, adaptable plan that ends with you back in your sport, not just out of pain.

  1. Assess & Clarify

Understand your story, your injury, and the demands of the sport you are going back to.

  2. Reset

Settle the injured area down, and keep you training around it rather than sitting still.

  3. Rebuild

Build the strength, range and control your sport asks for, past where you got hurt.

  4. Progress

Add your sport's demands back one at a time: cutting, throwing, sprinting, contact.

  5. Achieve & Sustain

Full training before full competition, then a plan that keeps the strength you built.

Your care is individualized. Progress is not always linear. We reassess throughout, and your plan may pause, adapt, or revisit a phase as your body, confidence, and goals change.

Had a knock to the head as well?

Concussion has its own staged path with its own checkpoints, led by Dr. Steve Martinow's advanced certification, and it runs alongside the physical rehab. See how the concussion clinic in Simcoe works.

Your clinician gets it

Built by someone who has sat on the injured list

Dr. Steve Martinow played semi-pro baseball in the Intercounty league. He has done the rehab, sat through the season that went on without him, and felt the gap between being cleared and being ready. That experience is baked into how this clinic treats athletes.

It is why nobody here will tell you to just find a gentler hobby, and why your plan is measured against the sport you are going back to rather than against sitting comfortably. It is also why we will tell you when you have not made it through a step in your plan properly, even when that is not what you want to hear. Going back too early is how people get hurt a second time.

Good to know

Sports injury questions we hear every week

Usually yes, around the injury rather than through it. Complete rest costs you fitness you will need for the return, so we work out what you can still load safely and keep you training while the injured area follows its own plan.

We answer with steps rather than a date, because an honest timeline depends on how each step goes. At every point you will know exactly which step you are on, what has to improve before the next one, and what you can safely do in the meantime.

Repeat injuries usually mean the area was settled but never rebuilt past the demand that keeps injuring it. We look for that gap, whether it is capacity, control or the movement pattern itself, and train specifically at it rather than repeating general rehab.
